Mind-Body-Spirit Medicine

An 8-week online training program bringing mind- body- spirit/ trauma- informed research, tools and practices into the consultation room to transform doctors and their patients.

Being a medical doctor can be really hard.

We work in an imbalanced system, seeing patients with complex problems and co-morbidities, often with inadequate time and resources.

Learning and implementing a mind-body-spirit and trauma-informed approach can fundamentally shift how we practice medicine.

This course brings perspectives, approaches and research from the worlds of somatic therapy, coaching, personal development, neuroscience, traumatic stress and childhood trauma and applies them to ourselves and our consultations.

I am a Finnish Medical Doctor and meditation teacher with 25 years of experience in holistic (integrative) medicine and an international background working in Finland, Germany, France, and the US. My special interest is in promoting mindfulness, meditation, stress management, self-regulation skills, emotional intelligence, body awareness skills, and somatic and spiritual healing in the prevention and treatment of mental and physical diseases. I'm especially interested in exploring the impact of Childhood Adverse Events and attachment traumas on health and disease. I am trained in Compassionate Inquiry (Dr Gabor Maté's psychotherapeutic approach) and I use it regularly in my medical consultation. I have a private practice in Helsinki, Finland, and give mindfulness meditation training and retreats.

Participating in this course has been a really wonderful experience. It was beautifully delivered by the three very experienced facilitators who themselves are doctors and so understand the current personal and systematic stresses that exist within the medical model. It has given me the starter tools to approach medicine in a more whole and integrative way. It has also taught me about myself, my belief systems, nervous system regulation , triggers and how to find healing and balance which not only benefits me but patients also. I would highly recommend this course , it is truly unique and has brought a group of doctors from around the world together to help heal themselves and so be able to better get to the core of patients problems.
